As a Gore product tester I see quite a few lightweight shells. This shell is designed for the ultralight backpack hunter seeking weight reduction as the top priority. The Contrail Windshirt will be among your lightest gear weighing only 9.10 ounces. It is ultra packable and will roll up small enough to fit in your pant pockets. During my 2012 early season archery hunts it proved its worth when the temps in early morning and evenings started to dip. The Contrail inhibits wind penetration preventing the loss of heat near your body. My only concern will be long term durability of this garment but if it were made stronger you would sacrifice weight. Another plus is the Contrail's ability to she'd water. Overall I would recommend this Sitka Gear piece to anyone just like most of their stuff. As an ultralight DIY Solo hunter I was very pleased with the performance of this product.
