At first, I was hesitant to purchase due to the high price, but after using it for a while I can tell you that this is some of the best hunting clothing I have purchased. The fit and finish is excellent. The durability exceeded my expectations. I just got back from a week long elk hunt in New Mexico and fell in love with my Sitka Gear. I wore the 90% Jacket and Pants along with the Traverse Zip-T the whole time. It stood up to long slogs through the woods and up and down the mountains. The only thing I can't vouch for is the water resistance since I never ran into any rain or snow. I'm actually now looking at getting some more gear for my whitetail hunting in the Southeast. Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic I lived in Sitka Alaska, where it rains an insane amount (80-100 inch a year). The local outdoors shop has Sitka clothing and I bought the jacket about 2 years and the pants last year... I hunted as much as possible, mainly off trail, Sitka Gear held up better then almost all my top quality Mtn. Hardware and North Face... It will let in some water over time, but not much, the sealed seams and zippers are awesome, same as all top quality gear. Most of the hunting in South East AK is off trail, steep climbs, heavy brush (Devil's club is an SOB) just all around tough country and this stuff holds up. It's quiet, tough, water tight... Rated 5 out of 5 by Expensive but worth it Bought a full compliment of Sitka Gear after learning that it was the only way to get the new Optifade pattern. Now I'm realizing that the Optifade is only a small benefit of the stuff. The clothes are amazing. I've often been frustrated by the very boxy and generous cut of Redhead clothing, and noticed that under armour was finally cutting things a bit more tapered. Well, the Sitka stuff is a perfect fit. On top of that, it was obviously designed by someone who has chased an Elk around the mountains for days on end. Its comfortable, breathable, and very functional. No detail has been missed that I can tell. If you can afford it, buy it, and buy it knowing you are getting top quality gear!!! September 3, 2009
