I bought these waders to use kayak fishing this winter. I'm 5'10" and 170lbs. The Medium fit perfect with room to spare. I matched these waders with a pair of Simms Blackfoot wading boots size 11. I typically wear a 9.5 or 10m but had to go up a size to compensate for the stocking foot in the wader. I haven't been on the lake yet, but judging by the fit and construction, I'm VERY confident these will get lots of use for many winters to come. Definitely glad I stepped up in price range to a quality made GoreTex wader such as these.

These waders are great and you do get what you pay for. I've used them the past few months and I haven't had any problems. Even in cold water, I find I stay warm and dry in these.
I will say the sizing was a bit weird for them though. I'm 6'4 200lbs and I had to get the XL in order for my feet to fit properly. The large fit better in the body but cramped my toes.
Just a consideration if ordering online for bigger people.
I'm really happy with my purchase and I know I will use them for years.

can never go wrong with a pair of simms. roomy, good looking and great warranty. Should last a long time & buy the simms freestone wading boots if you need a new pair of boots. Great double E size, fits great. Heavy duty gear and the least cost in their line. An excellent buy. Simms freestone wading boots. I love my boots. can't wait to move to Bellingham to really be on the water in October.

These sound more durable, but I'm looking for something that is breathable, and will be somewhat cool in 90+ degree weather. Are all Simms waders breathable? If not, are these?Answers
A:Â
Any gortex wader is going to be thin and breathable for the most part except for the neoprene stocking foot5 months, 3 weeks ago
A:Â
Yes these are breathable and definitely more substantial than the Freestone waders, especially from the knees down.A:Â
yes the are beathable all the simms waders are except the foul weather waders.A:Â
These are NOT breathable. If you are looking for goretex, or other more breathable boots, look for those that are in two parts --- the leg part and then the boot part. These are like giant rubber boots.Answers

Velcro at the top of the pocket. works well never had an issue with things falling out.A:Â
Yes, it velcroes across the top.A:Â
It is open.A:Â

These are OK for cold water. And even if you fall, and they are filled with water, the water warms up -- the first time. The second time, you freeze.A:Â
Get breathable waders and put layers on underneath you can use them in the summer and winter.A:Â
Purchase their fleese pants for the waders, I've had them for 3 years aned wear them for hunting also. They have two front pockets and a zippered rear pocket1 of 1
