Simms® G3 Guide GORE-TEX® Fishing Vest
I was looking for a vest that wouldn't break the bank and ruin my marriage, but would also hold up over time. Initially, I had my eyes on a competitor's vest, which seemed to be of good quality at a reasonable (and much lower) price. My wife, who must have been feverish at the time, graciously urged me to purchase the Simms G3 vest. I quickly obliged.
Although I haven't been out on the water yet, I can't wait to give my new Simms G3 vest a try! The vest has over 20 spacious pockets that are both well-designed and -proportioned. If anything, I now have much more usable space than I need!
More importantly (and as advertised), the material is clearly breathable yet durable. I have no doubt the vest will take a beating without any difficulty. The material is light-weight, but strong. The stitching and seams are excellent. I particularly like how the collar fits; it isn't restrictive, but appears to be very supportive. The vest also holds weight well. It won't be difficult staying on the river all day--even with lots of gear.
This is my first Simms purchase, but, based on what I've seen already in the G3 vest, I'm already looking to upgrade my waders! While Simms products may seem pricey, the cost is well worth it, especially if you fish a lot!

Simms G3 Vest
I have had this vest since it came out, and it has become all that I wear. I have tried all sorts of vests, and chest packs, and I have yet to find anything that I like as well. I am able to load this vest up with any and everything that I need, and still be comfortable. The pockets are very well thought out, as are the retractors with the magnets (I love these). The molded pockets work well for fitting large fly boxes, I have yet to find a box that won't fit.
I do hear people say that they feel the vest runs a little small, I do not see any issue with that personally.

This is a very good investment, a little pricey but worth it. I've had alot of vest in my time and this one will last the rest of my life.I have my vest loaded up with alot of weight but when you put it on it's like wearing nothing. Great vest.
