Good 3-D for the money! I bought this target two months ago and have put 300+ arrows through it with my Bear Encounter (70 lbs with victory v-force arrows with field tips). No problems yet. You definitely want to shoot a sharper/narrower field point as my old blunter ones blew out some holes on exiting the target. I would not recommend for broadheads. Great introductory 3-D target. GREAT Just got this target yesturday. This is my first 3-d target and I love it. Just what I was wanting. Setup was easy and all the parts where in the box. I have put about 25 arrows at 20 yards away into the target and never knocked it over. Arrows are easy to pull out and the arrows wont go through the target. I was using pratice tips, havnt tried broadhead. December 28, 2012
Horrible target went to bp today and bought this target. wish they would of had a display model cause would of never bought it. this target is no bigger than a dog. lookin down on the target it's no more than 5 inches thick. my bow passes right through. i about broke my arms tryin to remove an arrow. horrible target. don't recommend to anyone July 8, 2010
Good for the money I have to give this 4 stars because it was only $80, and you get what you pay for. Ive been shooting for 35 years so I wont hit the legs which are hard plastic. If youre that bad of a shot you dont need to be shooting at deer any way, you'll just wound them and lose them and you probably need to practice a lot more anyway. October 4, 2013

A:
Yes. I've hit both the replacement vitals and the "rest of the target" with broadheads. I'm shooting ~290 fps from 38 yards. Broadheads (target broadheads...so blades aren't brand-new sharp) stick about 1"-6" through the back side. No big deal.

I do not suggest it. I shot a broadhead into mine and had to break the target insert to pieces to get it loose...broke my arrow in the process! This target is great for field tips though.

Yes, but if you miss the vital area the target and arrow will pay the price. I always practice w/ field tips & havn't had any trouble, even when I'm off the vital area. (yeah I'll admit it!!!!)

I don't know if they're intended to be inserted and removed repeatedly. They are not installed when they come in the box. So...you don't HAVE to install them. I chose not to install mine because I really didn't care whether the target had them or not. If you choose to install them, I don't know if you can remove, re-insert, etc...

they are, but if you remove them multiple times the 'pedicle' will deteriorate. i don't recommend removing them.

It's not layered. It appears to me to be a self-healing solid foam block. I'll put 20 arrows in it in one session. Come back the next day and the holes seem to have largely closed themselves up.

just foam. this is definitely a 'value' based target and performs just fine in that capacity.

Feels like its just foam, but don't buy it if you're shooting an adult bow. Shot it 4 times and had 3 pass throughs. Arrows are extremely hard to remove!
