I BOUGHT THIS ROD FOR CASTING AT LOBSTER POTS IN SEARCH OF MAHI . WELL DIDNT GET ANY MAHI ON IT BUT LOADS OF FALSE ALBIES AND SKIP JACK UP TO 11LBS.. THE FIGHT AND ACTION IS AMAZING.. THIS MAY BE ONE OF THE BEST SPINNING COMBOS I OWN. I HAVE IT MATCHED WITH A SHIMANO STRADIC 4000. I THINK THE 3000 WOULD HAVE BEEN PERFECT ON IT THOUGH.. THE ROD IS VERY WHIPPY BUT DOES NOT BREAK ! I CANT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS ROD.. THERE IS NO DOUBT I WILL BE PURCHASING AT LEAST ONE MORE MAYBE 2. JUST CAUSE I ANT ONE WITH A BUCKTAIL SET UP, 1 AS A PITCH BAIT ROD, AND 1 WITH A TSUNAMI PLASTIC BAIT. ..

This rod has extreme visual magnetism. It really
did feel good in the hands also. I thought I had finally found the great cross-over rod for Redfish. When I tried to put the intended reel on it (well known brand)and found it," would not fit in the reel seat because the reel foot was too large". Well now, it was too nice to take back and fortunately (or not) I drug another reel(store brand) out of that dark place. It fit perfectly. The intended reel did fit on everything from 6# to 20# rods. Bottom line ___ If you don't know the size of your reel foot and it's intended reel seat you won't be mating that thang.
