Rated 5 out of 5 by These Talica reels are BEASTS!!! I have the Talica 10II, 12II, 16II, & 25II. These reels do everything I need them to do from Trolling wahoo, drift fishing for snapper & kings, bottom fishing grouper & AJ's, and chunking for tuna! Last year I pulled in a 117lb Yellowfin Tuna on the 25II. It stood up and fought the fish with ease. I would highly recommend these reels. March 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Talica 16ii Absolute awesome reel. You will not be disappointed. I have the 20 and the 16 February 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Incredible tuna reel I use this reel for grouper/snapper/tuna fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. This is a great all around reel. I used it to bottom fish for snapper, and cranked the drag up and put it in low gear to go for big grouper. For tuna, I used this reel to both freeline live flying fish and jig to 600ft with 400g jigs for YFT and BFT. The reel is effortless to either freespool or to crank in heavy jigs all night. Additionally, the narrow spool on the 16 makes it easy to jig all night. I would recommend this reel as a great all around multi-use reel. July 11, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by talica 25II I will be using this reel on a 17 day- long range tuna trip. On these trips the tuna run between 100 and 300 lbs.,with a lot of fish over 200 lbs. This reel has proven itself with 200 plus pound fish. I also have the talica 16II, which I landed a 125 lb. yellow fin tuna on last October. I caught that fish jigging, about 300 foot deep, and it ran down to about 450 foot before stopping. It only took me about 15 minutes to bring this fish up to the boat. The talica's are incredible reels with a lot of power, and I would recommend them to anyone. April 29, 2011
