Outstanding Performer for The Avid Fisherman I use only trigger-based spinning reels. Having run through all on the market, I have found this product to be the longest lasting and most economical. I have 4 Syncopates now into the third year with no loss or breakdown in performance. The trigger system has held up well despite countless casts and retrieves. It is simply a great reel for the price! November 21, 2014
Best bang for your buck I bought one of these in the 2500 on a whim almost a year ago and I'm glad I did. These are very nice reels for the $30 pricepoint, IMO the best. They're smooth, reasonably light, and the Quick Fire trigger works greats. I'll definitely be picking up another one. The drag could possibly be a little smoother feeling, but I really can't complain. I've pulled in dozens of largemouths with mine and it's still going strong. Spool it up with 6 or even 8lb mono and it's good to go. They even do well with braid as long as you stay under 20-25lb Power Pro. April 2, 2013
Great Reel! I own 4 of these and use them with MH or H Bass Pro spinning rods strung with Stren at 6 to 20 pounds depending on what I'm fishing for etc. Shimano makes a great product and I've never had any issue with these reels. They're CHEAP for what you get, $30 for a nice reel with the quickfire bail, nice gear ratio, great for all around fishing whether using artificial baits or deadline with live bait. Like any reel expensive or not, clean and lube them every so often, if you take care of this product it will last you a while. July 12, 2014
Great reel Love the reel i use it for casting spoons on the pier i use it with 20 lb power pro and 15 lb fluorocarbon leader the only thing i dont like is the anti reverse it is worth the money October 15, 2014

Hi, thank you for your inquiry. I would recommend going into a store to test the reels out before you make your purchase as each angler has a different suggestion. This would be a personal preference choice when selecting the right reel for you. In addition, you might narrow your search by price and ratings online. Thanks

Go with the Syncopate. I have several and I have a FD Sienna also. The QuickFire bail makes it worth while.

Go with the Shimano Syncopate Spinning Reel with Quick Fire II. Its is a higher quality reel then the $29.99 price tag. Quick fire trigger is an amazing addition to a spinning reel.
