I have an older series 3000 Symetre. I needed a 1000 series for my light fishing needs. I went with the Symetre as it felt smooth and solid. It looks sharp, too. It provides a good balance on my light rod. Only time will tell if it truly is durable with the new technology. My 3000 is still kicking strong after years of use, so I am not worried. Great price as well.

I own a lot of reels from just about every manufacturer and this is one of the smoothest I have. I have the 2500 size and paired it with a new Shimano Compre 6'8" MH rod. It is a little heavier set up than some other options today, but it is a fish catching machine. There is no wobble in the retrieve and the drag system is very smooth. I use light line, usually 8 lb test is max, so I rely on the drag a lot and it has yet to fail me. This reel casts a mile without trying and doesn't have any issues with line twist or loops like many other spinning reels do. It is worth every bit of the $100 it costs and I will replace other reels with it when the time comes.

Smooth drag, excellent castability, winch like cranking power and they come with a spare spool for line versatility, you can't go wrong!

Remarkably smooth action, and compact but solidly built. This is my travel reel, and it fits that need quite well.
