A:
If you are going after tarpon near the beach you can get away with a lower pound test braid and high capacity.
If you are planning on fishing near bridges, pilings, structure, etc then you need some extra strength.
The 8000 series has 27lbs of drag, meaning you can load on 30lb to 40lb braid and handle most tarpon situations.
If you are going to be near some heavy cover and structure you may need the 14000 with its 44lbs of maximum drag. This size would also handle a lot of 50 to 60lb braid.
At this time these are the only sizes that I am seeing on the BPS website that would work for you. It is a big jump from the 8000 to the 14000 in size and weight. I personally would go with the 8000.
I hope this helps
