Shimano IX Spinning Reel
I own 4 of these. I use them in salt and fresh water. The one finger release is awesome. For the money...you get much much more then you're moneys worth. One of mine is 8 yrs old and still like new. I use them for bass and talapja in florida canals and at the pier in salt. Works like a charm!!!!!!!!

Big surpise for Little price
Just bought a Shimano IX 4000 R. I bought it just to have cheap reel to use in situations where I did not want to use my much more expensive ones. After trying the Shimano IX 4000R I have to say I am amazed at the quality of the reel for the price. It outperfprms some of my expensive reels in many ways. It is easy to cast with one hand. Reels the line in easily with a very smooth drag. I hate to admit but I will be using it more than any other reel I own, including some costing in the $75 to $100 range. I would encourage any fisherman new or experienced to give this reel a try. You will be impressed.

Best budget reel you can buy
I own three of these reels. Two IX2000RC & one IX4000RC. The ideal line the for the IX2000RC reel is 6lb mono. The IX4000RC being a larger reel can handle 10lb mono and up to 40 lb braid. I recommend removing the triggers as they tend to catch the line and cause tangles.

I don't write reviews, but had to for this one. This model reel has been around for a very long time. I've been fishing with these Shimano reels for years, and literally search for these when I'm shopping in any sporting goods stores. I still have not found a better real in the $30 - $70 price range. Seriously, you cannot beat these for the money. You can spend a lot more, but will not get any better performance. For $12.99, you cannnot beat the price and you will not be disappointed. Good performance, dependable, durable. Great reel for an excellent price! Stock up!
