I purchased two of these reels (2000&4000) to throw in a travel fishing kit because of the price and reviews. Well, let me tell you....these things are smooth and durable. I have taken them on at least 6 trips and landed over a dozen cats and they work flawlessly. I have yet to land anything over 5 lbs yet, but for the casual fisherman and the AVERAGE fish...this works great.
The do NOT like two things....one of which is easily fixed. First, the trigger fast fire. This may be great for some (especially handicapped), so I can understand it....but I don't think it works as well as traditional manual opening of the bail. Fortunately it can be removed and works fine without it.
Second, the anti-reverse engages at only one point in the rotation of the spool which makes tightening of the line a less accurate affair. Given the price, not an issue.
Long term I cannot say how these reels will hold up, but even if they work for one long season, it will be worth it. Don't buy one...but several!

I got this reel to do some carp fishing with. I paired it up with a diawa 7ft spinning rod that I found at a pond. I didn't want to spend a lot for a carp or cat fishing reel so I got this one. For being under 15 bucks, its smooth and very versatile. I got the 1000 series and put 6lb mono on it. I wanted to go as light as possible on the line because it's just more fun that way! The only problem with it is that it shakes a bit and the drag is a bit loose but for the price, it's a great and effective reel!
