Last Purchase Ever After sending this rod to Shimano for repair or replacement, it was sent back with blown up picture of the damage and a rude letter stating that it was not covered under their warrantee program. Given the fragile nature of a fishing rod you would think they could have at least offered a replacement for a fee. Now I'm out $150 for the rod and $26 for the shipping. My local tackle shop guy suggested I try a St Croix rod...better product, better warrantee and less hype. I was a loyal customer for 15 years and will never purchase another Shimano product again. Paying too much for the name I have now tried 3 of these Crucial rods for walleye fishing and I think they are simply garbage. They were all paired with the Stradic reels and love the smoothness of the reels. Bought these rods based on name and I will not buy another. I have bought cheaper rods with better feel, balance, and sensitivity for half the cost. Shimano fans may like them but I won't use them again. July 10, 2012
CRSX68M2A Just got the 2pcs crucial 6'8" Medium and right away tested it on trouts. 4# test on a Shimano Stradic CI4 3000. The IM-10 tip is very sensitive and enough to detect trouts light bites. The extra fast taper making hook setting easy, but that Extra Fast taper and the 4# test line forced me to set the drag loose. Got the limit with all shimano rods and reels in compre and crucial and stradics. The biggest one for that day was a 2.7 lbs. It actually pulled and bent the crucial in it's final head shake. Can't go wrong with Shimano. January 16, 2012
Another great product from shimano Got the new crucial rod last Friday 7' 2" medium/heavy fast action for worms and jigs to pair with my stradic ci4. The pair together is awesome. The rod has incredible control from the accuracy of your casts to the ease of controlling your bait. The rod is super super light and crazy sensitive. I had talked to several people before deciding what I was gonna get and everything that I was told was completely accurate. If your looking to up your fishing game and you want a great rod to help with your lure control and weight of your setup this is the rod you should try. It's up there with the more expensive rods but worth every penny. I'm a die hard shimano fan and they have delivered once again. My crucial rod with the stradic ci4 reel is an awesome set up and I would recommended them both to all the serious fisherman out there. May 20, 2013
