Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 23 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by fantastic this is one of the bests rods you will ever find for the price. i use this rod for everything but freshwater bass and cropie. the rod is well worth 200dollers. the lighter of the rods can well handle 50lb fish. they have a lot of feel at the tip with a really hard backbone. Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Rod! This thing feels sturdy enough to pull a house. I like how the eyelets are made of just one piece. No plastic inserts to loose like on other rods. Nice construction. Would buy again! May 3, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by one and only saltwater rod this is the only rod i have ever used for saltwater fishing. i strapped on my daiwa x50ha on this and the combo is perfect. to me, rods have always been a hit or miss thing. a tiger is definately a hit and will continue to be. its great for casting or just dropping bait to the ocean foor. i have also had excellent performance in freshwater with this as well. Rated 5 out of 5 by Sensitive tip and strong backbone. These are the best built rods for the MONEY. Stainless Steel guides won't break unles you run your truck over them. This is great because of the abuse a rod takes during transporting. The sensitive rod tip allows you to set the trap on any fish, the fish often hooks its self and yet the strong backbone it requires to land a large catfish won't let you down. I have several fishing rods and the shakespeare Ugly stik tigers are my go to rods, whether fishing for trophy flatheads, Blues or just a bunch of small channel cats. Never buy a 2 piece rod unless your are perch fishing. May 13, 2009

about the guides?

Details:
My question is: I read where the guides are Stainless Steel. How will they stand up to braided super lines? I know from years past the braided lines will cut into metal guides and ruin them.....Thank for any ideas on this.

I use mono line on this rod and even that is wearing down the guides. I would replace the tip top with a Fuji Hardloy.

A casting rod has a trigger on the handle and requires a baitcast reel, which sits on top of the rod. Spinning rods have no trigger and require a spinning reel, which is mounted under the rod.

A:
Yes these tiger rods are what you want if your going after fish 5 to 30 lbs very tuff rod stainless eyelets be sure and select your action for the size fish your after the meduim light 12 to 30lbs has very good action even from a 1lb fish. The walleye can get pretty big I would use the meduim light action for walleye. You could use it for pan fishing if you wanted but I would select the light action for pan fish.

I would think most would find these rods a little overkill for walleye. Commonly used for big catfish or saltwater fish.

These rods are for conventional reels. The trigger is usually associated with baitcasting reels.

No item number 38-133-698-00 does not have a trigger. Most big water rods are not designed with the trigger.
