Bought this rod to match with my new Trinidad 16N. Leaving Sunday to go to Baja to try it out, but have tested it on dry land and like it so far. Real test will happen next week when I catch that big dorado! Cannot tell for certain how many stars to give as I have not yet used the rod in actual conditins.

Very awesome rod for peirs, throwing big plugs in surf and jetty's. It is now wimpy rod, awesome price and it is quality! I use it for a lot of fishing on the Atlantic Coast and Cheasapeak Bay.

If you want to keep buying $30.00 rods every year because the tip broke or the eyelets broke off then you don't want this rod. This rod is one that you will use for the next 30 years and after you pass on one of your kids or grand kids will find it and use it for who knows how long with everyone wondering where the rod came from. Then the famous phrase will be said yet once again "They sure don't make them like they use too" this rod will allow you to pull a 4 lb catfish straight from the water into the boat yet still light enough to see every nibble. Your fishing buddy will be asking you where your net is and your reply who needs a net. Very tuff rod. The only thing I see may cause some people to dislike this rod is the long handle after the reel connection. But it does help lifting those 4lb cats into the boat. I think i would prefer a shorter handle cause I'm just use to it being that way but I can't complain this rod will take a beating.

My question is: I read where the guides are Stainless Steel. How will they stand up to braided super lines? I know from years past the braided lines will cut into metal guides and ruin them.....Thank for any ideas on this.Answers

Guide size, arrangement, and orientation not to mention rod is designed to bend in different direction.A:Â
A casting rod has a trigger on the handle and requires a baitcast reel, which sits on top of the rod. Spinning rods have no trigger and require a spinning reel, which is mounted under the rod.Q:Â

are these rods good for any kind of fishing like walleye or are they only for real big fish?
Answers
A:Â
Yes these tiger rods are what you want if your going after fish 5 to 30 lbs very tuff rod stainless eyelets be sure and select your action for the size fish your after the meduim light 12 to 30lbs has very good action even from a 1lb fish. The walleye can get pretty big I would use the meduim light action for walleye. You could use it for pan fishing if you wanted but I would select the light action for pan fish.Top 1000 Contributor

I would think most would find these rods a little overkill for walleye. Commonly used for big catfish or saltwater fish.Q:Â
