I should have looked at the spec. a little closer. I did not know the reel handle could NOT be switched to right handed reeling. I will still use this rod but not as much as i would have if i could switch the handle to fit what i am used to. Love the ugly stick rods n reels I have 4 of them they are very tough and reliable. Will buy more in the future BUT not without hands on examination before buying.

Purchased 2 of these Combo's for panfishing. As usual the ugly stiks are excellent. The reels worked well but seemed not as smooth operating as my other underspin reels.I opened up both reels and found neither reel had any grease in them. I greased both reels and reassembled them. They are now working smoothly and will last a lot longer. For the cost of the 2 Combo's minus the $10.00 rebate the reels were essentially free and are now working great.

I love this rod and reel. Its light weight but durable. This rod and reel lives in my truck waiting for any opportunity to be used. Very easy to cast, I taught my little sister to use it and she also loves it...I'm now thinking it would make a great present, very affordable.

I have purchased Shakespeare's Ugly Stik in the past (baitcasting/spincasting) rods and have found them to be true to their advertising. I have not had a problem with them over the years. I have not been able to use the Underspin just yet, but hope to before the snow flies and the ponds in my area freeze up.
Great product and worth the investment.
