Great combo for so cheap. First time i took it to a farm pond this past march. I was working a gulp crawler on the bottom and hooked into a 4 pound bass. The rod did its job and reel held its own. Only suggestion is use braid or a superline on it because it seemed no matter what size of mono i put on it would spring off and leave me with a nest. I accedentally kicked it off my boat and i am definetly getting another.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by pabass Great value, fun to use
I've had this combo for 3 years now and have always enjoyed fishing with it. Being an ultralight, it makes the fish seem bigger and makes for a fun battle. Pretty good quality for the price. The only thing that bothers me is the line gets caught up in the middle of the bail and doesn't slide over into position sometimes after casting. Overall I've been pretty happy and am buying a second one.

Well, it will give really good action with anything from 12oz. up. It may not stand up to bullheads and channel cats.Answers
