Haven't used this one yet. Bought this rod & reel combo a couple of years ago, the reel was terrible . Had to send for repairs/replacement.
Hopefully this reel is better.

I went on an awsome fishing/camping trip and i used his reel. It worked decent the first few cast. But the reeling motion is SO NOT SMOOTH WOW. Then i ran out of string after 2 snags. Re spooled it and then it started making weird noises. I am sure the pole is good as I trust Ugly Stick but this reel has to be the worst i ever seen so un smooth and CHEAPLY MADE......

I bought this little rig thinking I might have a handy lightweight panfish rod and reel but was quickly dissappointed. The reel only worked for the first few times I used it and by the time I figured out the reel was at fault, it was too late to return.
The rod is fine and can be reused but the reel is basically worthless.

I purchased this ultralite combo about two years ago from Bass Pro and used it a dozen times. The reel hub has a chromed surface that is not thick enough to prevent "wire drawing" in which the monofilliment line wears a groove through the chrome surface. Shakespeare will not cover a claim over 1 year so... beware of this product.
