This rod greatly exceeded my expectations. It is a great value, without losing a great quality. I'm highly pleased with my purchase. This rod has great sensitivity but still has enough backbone to handle most any inshore fish that it comes in contact with. GREAT BUY GO GET ONE FOR YOURSELF!!!!!!!

I am an avid inshore salt water fisherman, and am very particular about my equipment. With over 20 rod 'n reel sets I hardly needed anything new. Yet over the years I have become fond of the Ugly Stik product. Even winning light tackle tournaments with them. So when I saw this SELECT series I had to try it.
Very sensative rod. Seems to have closer eyes than I'm used to though. Cast well and has plenty of backbone. To look at it one might think it light weight. However, I can assure you the 7 !/2 foot model can set the hook on just about anything, and horse in 30 + lb. fish without problem.
I am very impressed with the one I purchased and, as my other rods age, would not hesitate to buy another. For medium to light weigh saltwater spin fishing it can't be beat. Speckle trout and redfish beware. Out performs rods three times the cost.

OVER THE YEARS, I HAVE USED MANY DIFFERENT BRANDS OF RODS. NOW THAT THERE IS A LIGHTWEIGHT INSHORE UGLY STICK LINE, I DECIDED TO GIVE THE UGLY STICK ANOTHER TRY....WOW!!! AWESOME ROD, GREAT SENSITIVITY AND STURDY!!! SOME OF THE OTHER RODS HAD COST ME 3X THE PRICE AND DID NOT PERFORM ANY BETTER. ONLY DOWNSIDE , AND IT IS A PERSONAL PREFERENCE, THE HANDLES WOULD BE BETTER IF CORK WERE USED. OVERALL, SHAKESPERE HAS WON ME BACK....TRY ONE OF THESE INSHORE UGLIES OUT AND GET OUT THERE AND FISH....

how would this rod do fishing off a pier with a drop of say 15ft ,will it allow me to bring a 30inch striper up with out breakingAnswers
A:Â
The medium light would not be a good candidate for this, the medium heavy could do it.A:Â
It definately would..was fishing a couple of weeks ago and hooked something really big..rod was bent almost double..no problem for this Stik! I have since purchased two more, You cant beat the warranty and quality of this rod!A:Â
no, you would need a bridge net.I have used this rod and it is not a lifting rod especially for 30in stripers.

what size reel goes good with the 7.6 mh,im going to match it with a penn battle 6000, would this rod ,reel combo be okAnswers
A:Â
The reel seat clearance is the draw back to these rods, check with the reel you intend to use before buying.A:Â
The rod will handle that reel but it will be alittle heavy. I was using a pflueger presidente with my rod, 7.6 mh, for stripers off a boat down near the gas docks (calvert cliffs) on the Chesapeake. If you're gonna be casting alot try to keep with a smaller reel to lesson the strain it puts on your arms. You can just load the reels up with braid if you are worried about lb test/ydsA:Â
The Penn Battle 6000 would work well with the 7'6" MH rod.Details:Â
I fish redfish and trout. Will this rod be a good rod? I am looking at the mediun and medium heavy inshore select rods.Answers
A:Â
The medium light has landed 22-23" trout and redfish without issue.A:Â
It will definately handle Redfish as I have already caught some ... have the 7 foot med. and just received a 7 foot 6 med. heavy. I have swapped over some of my more expensive reels to these rods because I like them so much. You will be happy with either one.A:Â
The rods are 7' and 7'6"Details:Â
The Bass Pro Shop website does not list the available lengths of these rods. Can anyone tell me what lengths these rods come in?Answers

I know 7' and 7' 6" because I have both.A:Â
