These rods are amazing. I have always used ugly sticks and these are the best ugly sticks I have found. Much better than the ugly stick light. I use them for bass fishing and a little river fishing and they work great.

honestly i was a little taken back by this rod,and i say that because i wasn't expecting two types of guides on this rod because online they show double reinforced guides, and yes it has double reinforced guides but only the first five guides are, then it goes to the regular junk guides that i've had nothing but problems with all my other uglystiks.and personally i own 9 different uglystiks all different lenghts and weights, and it seems to me that shakespeare has been useing very poor qaulity guides the last few years! but other than the guide issue this pole is very light, lighter than my uglystik lite and my lightpro models, and the tip of this rod is very sensitive ,u do feel everything.

This is my 3rd UGLY STICK. The best rod you can buy for the money. I have several other rods that were more expensive but I am "hooked" with the UGLY STICK

I want to pair one of these with a Lew's Speed Spool for bass fishing. The lure weight ratings seem appropriate for a variety of bass lures but the heavy line ratings make me think the rod would be too rigid for a lot of techniques. Are they flexible enough to fish bass?Answers
A:Â
I flip and skip and crank with the medium version. Going to get a med light just for finessing jigs but this one does an excellent job with that too. I have yet to find any technique that this stik isn't great at. I'm debating just getting another medium cuz the feel is so killer.A:Â
Perfect for bass!!! Its so light, you can fish it all day!!! And will handle any bass you hook!Details:Â
i realize this rod wasn't really built for it but am impressed with the weight & design; i am just curious as to how this rod would handle crankbaits & spinnerbaits up to 3/4 oz?Answers
A:Â
I've been running 3/4oz buzzbaits and spinner baits on 30lb pro line braided and I've had no issues what so ever. Great feel and plenty of strength, casting distance is phenominal as well. I'm using the medium version.A:Â
This rod will handle whatever you can handle in bass fishing.A:Â
Would be a little like hunting squirrels with an elephant gunA:Â
Yes this rod handles heavy spinnerbaits very well, but I cant say personally about the crankbaits. Not a big cranker.1 of 1
