Simply the "Best"
Used primarily for fish in the 20-30# range, it performs better than expected. Plenty of backbone yet a very sensitive tip so that lightest hit by a large fish can be boated and still enjoy the fishing experience. The 7 ft. one piece is an excellent choice for both boat and shore fishing.

Could not get a better buy. Custom construction on a budget. Tested this Spetember 2012 on some heavy duty tuna. More than passed. Why spend more?

An Ugly Winner
I purchased the 20-50 line class rod and will have to say it is a very good rod. I have this rod matched up with a Shimano Tekota 800 and Berkley 30lb big game. Havent gotton a chance to go after snapper or grouper with this setup but have put it through its paces with some shark and am very pleased. The rod has a soft tip action with plenty of grunt all the way to the back. The smooth grip on the back allow it to be removed easily from any rod holder you want to put it in, and the reel set gets the job done expetially with any reel clamp you would decide to use with your reel. Have not had the opportunity to catch any monsters with it yet, but feel this can do pretty much anything I could ask of it.

I wouldn't think twice about using the custom for fish in the 50# range. It could be used for larger fish from a boat, but, from the shoreline I would match equipment for the species and expected weight range to ensure success. Flatheads can be very large and bank fishing restricts mobility. The custom has the backbone to turn a large cat. Pulling it from bottom structure can be another story.
