Rated 5 out of 5Â by mattL Good catfish rod
So far this rod has worked great. I haven't caught anything too massive on it, but it handled the 1-12 pound blues and channels nicely! It has plenty of backbone, but its still sensitive enough to feel slow, less aggressive bites.

Flexible enough to cast smaller baits way out there and enough back-bone to set the hook and haul the big ones back to shore.

What's the difference between fishing reel and fishing rod; which is better to catch catfish in IL

OK THE ROD IS THE UGLY STICK THE REEL IS WHERE THE LINE RESIDES.....A:Â
The rod is the pole that the reel attaches to. Your reel contains the fishing line and has a handle that you turn to "reel" in your bait. You need both a rod and reel for fishing.Answers

I used this rod fishing for Northern Pike in Quebec this passed summer and it performed very well. I would be very comfortable using it for muskies, blues or any other good fighting fish.Top 25 Contributor

Yes you can use this rod for other fish. I have used this rod for catfish more than any other species, but I have used it for bass, walleye, and muskie too and it works great for all of them.1 of 1
