Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Cat Rod I have this rod paired with an Okuma baitfeeder 50 and it's the perfect medicine for most catfish under 40 pounds. It would probably handle bigger fish but haven't gotten anything over 40 on it yet..Casts great and has plenty of backbone yet a pretty sensitive tip. It also works great with circle hook. I have a much more expensive custom rod and it's no better than this rod. January 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great rod for any fish I took my new rod out to test it just last week and caught the biggest catfish that I have ever caught and the rod handled it with ease. The rod tip is sensitve and you can see the slightest bite, if the tip is moving set the hook because there is a fish on. Awesome rod don't stop making these rods. Bass Pro keep stocking the shelves I am going to buy more of them . June 19, 2012

A:
The rod is the pole that the reel attaches to. Your reel contains the fishing line and has a handle that you turn to "reel" in your bait. You need both a rod and reel for fishing.

Of course! Other than blue cats, I've pulled in strings of mackarel with sabiki rigs, flounder, and rays at the pier.

I used this rod fishing for Northern Pike in Quebec this passed summer and it performed very well. I would be very comfortable using it for muskies, blues or any other good fighting fish.

Yes you can use this rod for other fish. I have used this rod for catfish more than any other species, but I have used it for bass, walleye, and muskie too and it works great for all of them.
