Very nice little combo I bought this for my 4 year old daughter, I was shocked when I casted it, it swings bait nicely ! , retrieves great too.My wife fished with it and decided it was hers. Now my poor daughter is back with her old rod and my wife and I fight over this one. It really does cast nice, no line twist problems, rod is nice too. For the money it is a great all around ultralite. I have sense bought another Synergy reel, a bit larger for a medium rod, it is great as well. July 10, 2006
Smooth I bought this for a young man that just started with Boy Scouts and had never been fishing before. I wanted Shakespeare because they are always high quality, but WOW! The pole was a little thinner than I expected, but it will work for him, and the reel... The reel is smooth as silk. I was playing with it a bit and teaching him how to cast and whatnot in the back yard before his trip, and I almost kept the reel for myself. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I got a call the first day he was out saying that for some reason it won't reel the line back in. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet though. Overall this rod/reel combo is WELL worth the money. June 21, 2013
a good beginner rod and reel i bought this for my first rod and reel combo and it still works today with no problems. although i dont use it anymore because of my new daiwa procaster baitcast reel, id still recomend it for beginners. July 29, 2008
Great Little Unit I purchased this for my grandson (5) and he was able to cast and retrieve easily. It fit him well and looked to be of qualilty. Caught a trout on the first cast so he was sold from the start. I would recommend to other buyers. Great price and great value. May 4, 2011

A:
You can switch it from side to side. All you is unscrew the cap on the opposite side of the reel.
Then take out the long screw and switch the handle and screw around.
Retighten everything and replace the plastic cap, and you're all set.
