I have purchased Shakespeare products for years,
this time the pole snapped on it's first cast! My son
and his buddies tossed it in garbage so I couldn't return it for repair! I moved reel to ugly stick pole and it worked perfectly. I know it would cost me $8 and shipping for replacement, hardly worth the effort if replacement is same quality

Details:
How large is tis reel? Is it bulky and heavy? I am looking for a decent spinning combo for my 7 y/o son. I wasn't sure if this combo was too large and heavy for him to fish with comfortably.Answers
A:
Reel is not suited for small hands, the reel's big. The Push button needs considerable force to use.A:
The reel weighs 10.4 oz. This combo would be fine for a seven year old, but if you have reservations you may take a look at our selection of kid rod and reel combos. Try a product search for “kid combo” to see if there’s a better fit for your child.1 of 1
