Junk don't waste your money This is a piece of junk. Don't waste your money. It has a rough retrieve and the drag doesn't hold. July 10, 2012
go for the Pflueger It's a nice small reel for my 5 yr old but the pin doesn't seem to catch and hold the line well enough when it's under tension. The line sometimes skips over the pin instead of activating the drag. Over all it's a great transition from a spin caster to a spinning reel, I just wish I had paid a bit more for a better quality reel. If we can get two seasons out of it we'll be happy. June 29, 2012
Great Value Very light weight reel that cast very well. Works great on panfish and small bass. Easy to operate. June 2, 2011
Shakespeare® Synergy® Micro Underspin Reel Have used these lots and still very happy with the preformance and ease of use. I have to switch to right hand retreive, but that is easy. This reel will pitch a lure pretty far also. Use these on trout in the river and crappie in the lake. Have hung a catfish on them also with no problems on bringing one in, just have to remember line cap. March 22, 2010

My daughter loves the reel, but it is now time to replace the line. Anyone know how to open this reel?

The whole cover unscrews just like a spincaster.

Just unscrew the reel face (the part with the hole that the line enters) and it will come off.
