Rated 4 out of 5 by Good entry level reel I have fished this reel for many years. Reliable and very smooth. Ideal for small-mouth , crappie and bluegills. I have the 8lb rigged unit. Love the one finger open bail feature and auto close. I wish this was available on all my spinning reels. Ideal for those who may have arthritis or limited hand use. April 29, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5 by Don't Buy This I bought four of these at the Nashville Bass Pro Shop, and wish I had not. I bought two ALPHA3140B (10-lb. line recommendation), and two ALPHA3135B (8-lb. line recommendation) primarily for use on crappie poles, but also for occasionally use as back-up spinning reels for black bass. I have found that a fish of 2 lbs or more will not reel properly, as the reel gearing "skips" gears, with a clanking noise, and will not allow line take-up at all. I did not save my receipt, nor the boxes the reels came in, as it was quiet a while before I attempted to use the reels. Hopefully my loss will be your gain, if you avoid these worthless reels. One star just because they do cast well, for what that is worth. December 6, 2013
