I was not satisfied. The end did not come on it and it should have said that. What is the PL-259 connector. Maybe it was supposed to be on it and Friday evening around 5:00 pm rolled around and it got left off!!!!

works well ,easy to hook up,looks good,just ask if anymore parts needed to buy before leaving store,got home with no connector took 4 days to find one in my area.

This is my third Shakespeare 8' vhf marine antenna. (One on an old boat that broke while raising it, the second broke when I bumped an overhead while re-fueling and now this one.) The recv/trans quality is pretty good but the one major draw back is how fragile it is. If you bump it on any low overhead obstacle it will easily break where the fiberglass meets the metal at the base. I don't feel that it would be cost prohibitive for Shakespeare to thicken the fiberglass at the base where it connects to the metal. The costs could be lower for such a fragile antenna, but I would not venture off shore without some kind of 8' antenna.
