I bought to replace a base in a saltwater boat where pedestal post had rusted onto base and could not be removed. Hole pattern matched old base perfectly. Also, the pedestal hole is a hard plastic/telfon type material that will not rust to pedestal post.

My last seat base broke, and one big notice from this model to my old one is the weld work on the underside. This seat base is much more durable, and priced ok I guess.

i have this product in the back of my boat it works great but the center ring cracked easly but it didnt hurt anything but appearence.i would recremend
