The stainless steelbase plate is very nice and has a high quality appearence. It should hold up over time with no issues. Although, the nylon bushing where you insert the post pin is inadequate and breaks down after a short time of use.
I contacted SeaSence for a replacement bushing and got NO response. So, at my expense I had a machine shop fabricate identical bushings but out of bronze.
Now it's perfect but at my added expense.
