Details: 
Do you take the tighting screw out and force the mount over the rail. Then the bimini top rail into the clamp, insert the tighting screw thru clamp and bimini rail, and tighten it up ???

A: 
If you unscrew the item, you should be able to clamp onto the rail. It should not require must force. Once the screw is removed, the unit will be easier to clamp on to the rail. Thanks
