Quick to Inflate Great on the Water
This is a comfortable boat that suits me perfectly. I use a 55 pound Minn Kota Traxxis digital motor and 185 deep cycle marine battery, group size 31. This boat is well balanced and easy for standing to cast. Although 11 feet may seem like a lot, with a cooler, tackle box and poles, it doesn't seem like any room is wasted. In my state (CA), once a motor is added it becomes a "motor vehicle" and requires registration. That means a state number and sticker will have to be applied, which entails making sure the numbers stay put if you use a glue on placard, or painting the numbers on with a stencil set. I was concerned with over inflating but Sea Eagle includes an easy to use chart with the boat that by placing it on an included pattern will help avoid over inflation. The PVC material is tough. I fold the boat up after use and put it in the bed of my truck. It doesn't even have to be entirely dis assembled. The transom and motor seat stay put which saves time on both the assembly and take down. The boat is buoyant plus and will easily ride wake from larger boats. Tube stability (sides) add to overall buoyancy. A great buy.

I had been researching inflatables for a year prior to getting this boat. I went with the Sea Eagle 9 and I'm glad that I did.
I went with the fisherman's package and added a Minn Kota motor. I also added a Humminbird 120 Fishin' Buddy. Instead of mounting it on the transom, I took another piece of marine plywood and bolted it to the existing motor mount support seat, extending it about 8" off of the side of the boat. I can view it comfortably from anywhere in the boat.
I use my boat primarily in local southeast Michigan lakes, and the flats of Lake St. Clair. I'm a fly fisherman, and I get a lot of looks from the guys with their $30,000 bass boats when I land a lunker on the fly from my inflatable.
I can go almost everywhere that those guys go, and a lot of places that they can't. I plan on taking it up to the northern Michigan rivers to drift for steelhead.
This is one great and versatile boat!

I'm a weekend angler and I wanted to be able to get to better spots at a nearby lake then simply what could be reached from the shore. My problem was that my other hobby is my car. A blown charger srt8. Obviously theres no roof rack and I'd never add one on for aesthetics sake. Theres also no trailer hitch and how would I get the car back up the boat ramp with wet drag radials? So how could I have a boat? It'd have to fit in my cars trunk.
So I started looking into inflatable boats and of all the ones I found this one had the best price and specs. Its not expensive compared to cheap john boats and its has some of the thickest material among its competitors. Its rated up to class 3 rapids!
I got it and have been using it for 2 months now. I love it. Its big enough for 3 big guys and some gear, you can sit on the bench, the motor mount seat or the sides which are very comfy. The boat is super lightweight in the water so its very easy for one person to row/paddle it around.
My favorite part however is the boards on the bottom. You can easily stand up an fish in this, its that stable! How many other inflatable boats can say that?
This is one of the best buys I ever made in conjunction with fishing.

I see the advertised in the Sea Eagle catalog. They have a free paper catalog it has a lot of items in there to make the boat more user friendly such as rod holders, fish holder kits, a wheel kit for pulling the boat etc.
I know I need a battery for a trolling motor, but I also want to install a small fishfinder. Would I need another battery for the fishfinder or could I use one for the trolling motor and the fishfinder?
The fish finder that you use on this boat needs to be something like a Humminbird 120 Fishin Buddy. It runs on A batteries. You really can't use the larger ones as you need a hard surface to mount the transducer. The 120 is self contained. You can mount it on the motor mount or take a wolmanized board like I did and bolt it to the transom seat, extending it about 8" off the side and mount it there.
The transom on the SE 9 will hold up to 45 pounds. A four stroke 5 HP may be a bit too heavy, however a 2 stroke 5HP engine weighs around 39 or 40 pounds so I would try for a 5HP 2 stroke in order to make the weight work.
