I dont' personally own one of these (too expensive), but the person I go salmon fishing with has two of these. These would have to work because he only trolls at deep depths so these are the obvious choice. For every time I'm on the boat there's only one malfunction, not having the batery charged. And when fishing with this we catch fish, so it works, no doubt about it! Just a little too expensive for me to want to buy it.

I have fished a lot and find this model is prone to having the cable fall off the wheel when the release is being set and the cable is slack.
I think it's because the spool is laying on it's side instead of upright.
It also takes up a lot of space for the same reason.
