Next to your rod the flyline is the most important item don't skimp buy the best you can afford. The Scientific Anglers Mastery Bug Line is the BEST.
Great for warm water large bug and streamer fishing I throw #2 bugs on a 6wt with no problem using this line, the coating dosent seem to pick up grit and slime like other lines do either.

I AM NEW TO FLY FISHING; I WISH I HAD BOUGHT SCIENTIFIC ANGLERS MASTERY BASS BUG FLY LINE IN THE BEGINNING: I WOULD HAVE SAVED SOME MONEY BY NOT BUYING ALL THE OTHER FLY LINES FIRST. SO, IF YOU ARE FAIRLY NEW TO FLY FISHING BUY THIS LINE FIRST, NOT ONLY DOES IT CAST LARGE FLIES WELL BUT THE TINY ONES ALSO. I USE AN 8/9 WEIGHT ROD FOR BASS--SMALLIES, KENTUCKIES, AND LARGEMOUTH--WITH THIS 9WT. LINE IT IS THE PERFECT MATCH.
I HAVE ANOTHER BRAND OF BASS BUG FLY LINE ON A 6WT. AND IT JUST DOESN'T EVEN COMPARE TO SCIENTIFIC ANGLERS.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by WILX Very nice line!
This fly line does exactly what it says; help turn over big air-resistant (but very cool) flies. It has a very nice coating on it that casts and shoots like a dream. I use the 9wt line on an 8wt rod for faster loading but thats just me. Another bonus about this line is that it doubles as a nice inshore saltwater line. When in doubt, you can't go wrong with Scientific Anglers.
