I have owned this charger for about a year. First it does not work as well on an extension cord as straight to the socket, and I use it on a 12 gauge extension cord. On the extension cord it never reaches 100% charge. The second part I was disappointed in was is it's durability. I accidentally dropped it and now it makes a funny noise. I know it is not meant to be dropped but I would expect it to take a few bumps.

This battery charger does it all. Easy to use and reliable. No need to keep an eye on it like other battery chargers. It will fully charge and maintain any deep-cycle battery. It is an absolute MUST for anyone who depends on electric trolling motors where gas engines are not an option.

This charge , although a tad noisy, does what it says in quick time. It will continue to charge after the display reads 100% charged however when I called the company I was told that this happens in order to equalize all of the amperage in each cell. So, with that I let it run awhile longer (about 30 min) and it eventually settled down and went into trickle mode. They also suggested that a marine battery be charged in AGM mode. Great charger.

I had the schumacer charger for many years and found it a fine product this why when I needed to replace the old charger I bought a new one.
I'v had the new one less than a month and need to send it in for repair as it is over charging the boat bat tires.
Basspro has very good products that Ive used for many years.

what size inverter would I need to install in my truck to use this. I guess I need to know the wattage it takes for an average battery charger.I have a boat with a 2 battery system. (12 volt) one for trolling mtr., and one for starting. There are bank phase, and regular 120 volt chargers. I need a system where it charges both batteries, while I fish all day on the lake. Which do you suggest? I have a 40 hp. Evinrude, & 1 grp. 24 deep cyc., & 1 grp. 27 d.cyc. for trolling. What would be bestAnswers

The charger is a AC charger, does not charge batteries while running.1 of 1
