Rated 5 out of 5 by Made the outdoors available I am not a hunter, but I am a gardener. Last year I could barely work in the garden because the chiggers were attacking me. I bought the Maxi-Deet to put on my exposed skin and used Sawyer® Permethrin Insect Repellent for Clothing. Between the two of them, I was able to work in the garden without any chigger (or other insect) problems on my person. This year, I ordered Maxi-Deet and Sawyer® Permethrin Insect Repellent for Clothing for both myself and my sister. Thank you, Bass Pro for making these items available. Without them, I would not be able to work my garden. March 30, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by best spray repellent I've been using this product for a number of years with great success. I tried the new breed of lotion repellents advertised recently but these cannot compare to Sawyer MAXI-DEET. I'm using it again because it works all the time. I gave it a four rating because it burns a little when in comes in contact with the skin but a mosquito bite is no fun either. October 21, 2010

Is this product safe to spray on synthetic clothing or will it melt it?

I used it on 100% cotton. I understand that it can be used on synthetics, but synthetics won't absorb the chemical. I also understand that wool may absorb too much chemical. A cotton synthetic blend would probably be okay as long as it is more cotton than synthetic. I don't know about silk or other fabrics.
