Rated 4 out of 5 by tnthekids Love it but 2nd year and filter won't unplug :(
Bought a year ago and used it in the BWCA and loved it!! Very easy to use and filtered at a great rate. Brought it home, followed all the cleaning instructions I could find (which are hard to find by the way). Went to use it this year and the filter refuses to do more than a dribble unless it is under pressure from the faucet. Searched for solutions and came up empty handed. Going to contact Sawyer in hopes they have an answer other than replacing the main part of the system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bruce Love the concept
I recently purchased the Sawyer 2 Liter Water Filtration System and I love the concept and I am sure that it works great as I have other of their products.
Two things to consider when you purchase this product: It will not fit into standard Camelbak or Source hydration carriers. The mouth is wider than these products, so unless you want to cut the opening wider these will not properly fit unless you want to have a gaping hole in your carrier, with will work in a pinch, but is unsightly. This was a disappointment for me because I really like the hydration carriers that I already have, now I have to find a carrier that will work with these, but I do have packs that they will work in.
Secondly, there is no kind of bite valve on the business end of the hydration hose. I am not sure why the marketing department found it necessary to have overlooked or neglected this, especially when this is a very necessary part of any hydration system There is not even a fitting on the business end of the blue hose in order to attach some kind of bite valve onto it. So if you purchase this remember that the system is not ready to use right out of the box. This is disappointing given the price tag.
Can Sawyer rectify this? Have one come with this system or at least give hints as to what they might recommend?
Would I recommend it: Of course, I recommend all of their products, it is just that this problem has left me scratching my head.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Annie Why Does Hose Pull Out?
This is a great water filter system when you're going to need more than 3 liters for your outing. But why does the hose from the blue bag pull out easily and on its own. The first time out was a day pack, and I chose to use my blue bag for hydration. After about 2 miles, my back was getting cooler and then felt wet. I was so irritated to find a couple inches of water at the bottom of my pack. When I got home I tried to secure it tighter with a zip-tie, but it didn't hold with great confidence. Later, I read reviews on REI, and found this had occurred with others. WHY?!? This i a great, easy system, and the only reason I give it 2 stars. It should get 5, but not when you can not rely on it "holding" your water. I did follow someone's advice and wrapped the tube joint with duct tape. Great, that adds weight and extra work when I get home. And for my investment, I don't appreciate having to duct-tape a new product! It's hard to recommend it until THIS is corrected. *Note: We had a nice running stream and I collected several 1L bags of water for camp and others. Filtered wonderfully. Just fix this hose isssue!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jackh7 Great alternative to pumping
I have not tried it in the field yet, but tried it on city water. It is a very easy product to use. It filters water fast but it was not as fast as advertised. That might have been an error on my part. It seems to be very high quality. I wish it would have come with more couplers to route the hoses it the way I want to. Very fast shipping and best of all MADE IN THE U.S.A.
