Savage Mark II F Rifle
I did alot of research before I bought this gun and I have to says them squirrels dont stand a chance. I have a ruger 10/22 and domt get me wrong I love it but this savage mark 2 is byfar my favorite gun. I took it out of the box and was already shooting dead center at 100 yards without a scope. I do agree thate this bolt action is way more reliable than any auto ..I says this gun is awesome priced and is so worth the money, I would pay more for this gun if it was more cuz I like it so much ...sorry ruger I found my new hunting buddy and this savage has never jamed and is accurate with all ammo :) very happy with this gun

Have had several 22s and the only one that comes close to the Mark 2s accuracy is a very old Gambles model 31 my grandfather left me. Come to find out, the old model 31 WAS made by Savage (Savage model 29B). Obviously Savage is still producing incredibly accurate rifles (ragged holes at 50 yards dime at 75, with CCI mini mags)! Only reason I can't produce ragged holes with the model 31/29B is it doesn't have a scope and my eyes aren't that good anymore. Savage Mark 2 is paired with a cheap Simmons 3-9X32, that I'm also thrilled with.

This is one of my favorite rifles to plink with. I put a scope and bipod on it and can pick anything off at a pretty decent distance. It's a nice lightweight gun. The only complaint I had was the five round magazine it came with. The spring wore out right away and the rounds popped out. It eventually fell apart completely and I threw it away. Fortunately, you can buy 10 round mags for a reasonable price and they are a lot more durable. This is a definate addition to your rimfire collection. The price was great as well.
