I bought this a few weeks ago and took it down to the farm. My brother and I had a lot of fun shooting targets at 100 yards. My 5 year old liked shooting this as well, although he prefers the old .22 ("since there's more bullets Dad!"). I found it to be very accurate and I can only imagine what the hmr rounds would do if you were planning on using it for some varmint hunting.... especially after what it did to my metal targets.

this gun is amazingly accurate once you get it sighted in for how far you want to shoot i have mine hitting a nickel sized grouping at 50 yrds this gun is amazing for pest control to main squirrels better watch out come spring

i purchased this rifle approximatly 3 months ago and i fell in love with it the first day. by the second day i already killed a rabbit ( headshot at 125+ yds) i have it equiped with a 6x9-40 scope along with a blackhawk bi-pod for hunting prone.
great product i recomend to anyone that enjoys recreational shooting and hunting. overall amazing rifle

I recently purchased one of these rifles and installed a 6x18x40 BDC scope. Wow! What a package. I bought it to go varmit hunting with my friends. We wound up rabbit hunting a lot and with this rifle you can put a lot of "meat on the table". Once the scope was sighted-in at the range, 150 yard head shots became almost routine! I use 17gr V-Max ammo exclusively. For the money, this is the most fun shooting I've had in a long time. I recommend the Savage Arms 17 highly!

Wasn't aligned out of the box, but the adjustments were easy. You will see a knob on the top and the side of the scope to adjust up/down and left/right

the scope wasn't aligned when i bought this gun but it is not hard to set up its the same as any other scopeDetails:Â
I have long arms (34/35 shirt sleeves) and find a 14" or so more comfortable than those closer to 13". Do you have suggestions for other possibilities? Thank you.Answers
