Savage 220F 20 Gauge Rifled Barrel Slug Shotgun
Reinvented Slug Gun
I had originally bought the Model 212 (12 gauge) and exchanged it for the 20 gauge. Savage Arms has reinvented the slug gun. Right out of the box, the Model 220 has unbelievable accuracy. I was shooting 3 1/2" groups at 175 yds with help from a 3-9x40 Bushnell scope. The Model 220F shoots flatter, is a bit lighter to carry, and in my opinion, more accurate than other slug guns out there of 12 and 20 gauges. I've owned 2 other brands of slug-only guns for deer hunting and they just dont stack up. You could argue a 12 gauge has more "knock down" power, but a well placed shot from the 220F will take down anything it hits.

Zero regrets and venison in the freezer!
I purchased my 220F from my local Bass Pro in October. The gun was quickly sighted in with the recommended Remington AccuTip 3 inch sabots. We had immediate success, with 2 inch groups at 100 yards. A Bushnell Elite 3x9x40 helped. My first hunt with the 220F was in central Illinois this past week. The very first shot found its mark at 167 yards, and 2 more kills at over 100 yards followed over the next day and a half. I cannot think of a single negative thing to say about this gun. It IS all that it's cracked up to be! Cant wait to pull it out again, and take aim. BRAVO Savage!!

cant meet the hipe
This gun may be alright for the money but its not near what its built up to be. I have had no misfires yet.It is light weght and feels handy. It does have ejection probbems. Ive shot 200.00 whorth of slugs through it,federals, remingtons, hornadys, some 3" some 2 3|4 and winchester. None meet the hipe. All but the winchesters can barely hit a paper plate at 100 yds. and though the winchesters did better still had one flyer that mised the plate. 5 to 7 min between shots to let barrel cool. this gun so far has been a disapointment.

Best Slug Gun
Best Slug Gun! I absolutely love this gun and it was well worth the wait and money. I am using a Bushnell 3x9 and took about 4 shots to have it sighted in at 100 yds. I have had three shots at three deer and three kills. None of them ran more than 20 yards after the shot. I am shooting Federal Premium Trophy Copper Sabot Slugs since I can never find the Accu Tips. Never had a misfire and as long as you work the bolt nice and easy the shells eject just fine. Again, absolutely love this gun!
