Rated 5 out of 5 by Sage Xi3 6, 8, 10wt The Sage Xi3 is a marked improvement from the Xi2, and the Xi2 was a GREAT rod! The main areas that you notice the change is in the feel, and ability to fish longer, without the level of fatigue setting in. They are a little more forgiving in all areas. They still look the same, and are still as tough as nails. The tip has a little more life in it, and they feel lighter in your hand. Still fast, and loads of power to lift sink tip lines and cannon a cast to the backing. I really like the changes, they make it more enjoyable rod to fish all day. July 24, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Xi3 rods Are The Best Salt Rod Ever!!! I own 4 Xi3's and got rid of my Xi2's because there was such an improvement that I had to make the switch. I found it hard to believe that the Xi2 could be improved because I thought it was the finest saltwater fly rod I have ever fished in 25 years, but the Xi3 changed my mind. If you are a serious saltwater fly fisherman buy the Xi3, you will not be disappointed in any way. It is lighter in the hand and cast, more accurate and loads at shorter distances than the Xi2. Plus it has a beautiful finish. April 10, 2010
