I bought my boat trailer new from Bass Pro Shops. Well, the two safety chains that hook to the receiver have clasps on them so they don't pop off. The safety chain that mounts to the bow of the Tracker Topper 1436, along with the ratcheting strap already having a clasp, did not have a clasp. It was just an open hook that'd pop off going down the highway.
I purchased this product, and it is nice quality. It's hard rubber and slides on easily. It does its job perfectly.

These safety keepers replaced the worn out 10 year old originals easily. Yes they are pricey but with the shipping deals you may get from BPS it was less expensive than OEM. I recently repainted my open bed trailer and this was an upgrade to complete the job.

Due to recent changes in the vechicle code for trailers in Ca. I looked to Bass pro to provide a silution to my problem and they as always stepped up to the plate with and easy low cost solution.

The safety chain keepers is on of the best ideas to come down the road in a long time. Living in central Fl we have alot of lakes that have bumpy roads going to the ramps and from time to time you might drop a safety hook. Not any more, this keeper does one heck of a job. Easy to install,easy to hook up and easy to unhook. For the little amount of money to buy them the safety they provide is worth the peace of mind they provide. Wish I had bought them when I firsst saw them.
