Safariland Open Top Concealment Belt Clip Holster
Much better than I expected
I bought this at the gun store because it was inexpensive and I needed something for my new Shield. I've never used a plastic holster and didn't expect this to be more than a carry-around-at-home holster. But it is by far the most comfortable holster I own and, contrary to one reviewer's opinion, is very thin and quite suited for concealed carry. Using the nicely curved paddle, the holster sticks out past my belt 1-1/8". My shoulders are wider than my hips, so this is thin enough to conceal easily. The holster and paddle have just enough flexibility to give me confidence that it won't break. It holds the gun securely, more securely than I want if I tighten it down too much. The belt hook sticks out too far and has too much hook; it makes it too difficult to remove the holster. So I removed the hook and its screw and let the projection of the tee-nut prevent the holster from coming along when I draw the gun. This works very well.

This is a fantastic holster for its purpose. Safarilaminate is tough as nails, the paddle platform is absolutely rock-solid, and the gun will stay in the basket until you want it to leave. If you want a quick draw holster, look no further than this affordable, low-front package.
This said, this is not an acceptable “concealment” holster. If you want to carry a gun in the real world, either put it in an IWB open top rig (tuckable preferred) or a well-hidden thumbreak holster, both of which will be thinner and more suave in classic leather. Open top OWB holsters of the wide plastic variety print noticeably and only advertise that you have a gun for the taking. If you want this for IDPA matches, either grow up and practice with exactly what you carry or save the earth and buy a bb gun.

The most comfortable holster you'll ever wear
I've had this holster for years & years - it is hands down the most comfortable paddle holster I've ever used. I "stole" it from my husband because I it was the only one I liked, and trust me - I tried many. It works for conceal & carry but is also suitable for competition because of how open it is on the top, which allows for a really fast draw. Despite that, however, it is also very secure - I never fear my firearm will fall out if I lean, run or even jump. Honestly, based on the quality - I am surprised it is so cheap. I highly recommend it.

Error of Ommision
I have several Safariland holsters, but they are several years old. Looking to replace them, but no "lefty" for the ones I want/need! I've been carrying and in the gun business for over 50 years and it is my experience that while only 12-15% of the general population are left handed, about 30% of those in the shooting sports are lefties! So, there is a good potential for increased sales by bumping up the availability of left hand oriented holsters!
