The STORM® Original Wiggle Wart® is a strike-triggering crankbait that works when nothing else will! The Wiggle Wart's tough molded body and irresistible wide, side-to-side searching action has made the Original Wiggle Wart a mainstay in many top pro anglers' tackle box. Outfitted with all the original components, a cadence-style rattle, integrated lip design and super strong hooks.
Personally i like both of them and use both all the time. I have a craw fish wiggle wart and then a sexy shad fat free shad. I catch same amount of fish and same size on both. If i am not catching fish on one the other will be catching fish. I cant say one is better than the other but seem to fish the wiggle wart more.
As with every bait, the color really depends on the water you're fishing on. That said, I carry only two colors of this bait to deal with any type of water that I find. In clear water I use a shad color (not sold here) and in stained water (or any water that has a large pumpkinseed population) I use the watermelon color. If the water is really murky, you're better off going with a larger crankbait or a very large colorado spinnerbait.
There are different sizes and bill lengths onthis lure. Generally, the loner the bill, the deeper it runs...likewise, the larger, the deeper it runs. Running depth is also controlled by line size...the smaller the diameter of the line, the deeper it runs.
It honestly depends on the water you fish on. Foggy water, you would want to use a brighter color. Clear water, you would want to use a more realistic bait color like brown. You could use a redish color for a crawfish type color. It just depends man.
I like all of the crayfish colors. I think they make about 10 different variations of crayfish. Any one of these is a great color. I also myself use the metallic blue/black back, the red herringbone, firetiger, bone, black/glitter, and watermelon. I do believe that these are all great colors for any situation. I might buy the bubblegum color just to give it a whirl. Who knows, it just may work since bass have never seen a pink crankbait before !!!!!
it really depends. for smallmouth i think that its one of the best of its size. i like the Wiggle Wart for big lakes and small rivers i like the Rebel Crawfish for any river or stream and the CC Big O for streams also. but if you are looking to catch largemouth bass with it then there r better for its size mostly depending where you are. crankbaits similiar to this size would be bombers which are good but usually have bad paint. Rapala DTs are good but some tend to have durability issues. Normans (proudly made in The USA) are fantastic, although they are completely different from the wiggle wart. the thing is about the wiggle wart is that it is very unique and few crankbaits have a similiar action. i hope this helps answer your question
I have used this lure and i like it epecially down there on the White River Lakes(Table Rock, Bull Shoals ect.) where it's fame has spread but i noticed a little bit of a pattern in the reviews and it seems like it is better as a crawfish imitation? Is that correct?
I actually have awesome success with this lure trolling. on two seperate occasions at Table Rock I caught two bass at the same time one on the front hook one on the back, both decent keepers too. I was trolling the firetiger in probably 20 foot of water. The erratic movement looks like a fish fleeing from a predator, maybe a fish that has been swatted by another fish and is disoriented. I have aewsome luck trolling these. Even when crawfish are not around to be immitated.
