This is an awesome knife! I was looking for a larger folder and I must say this is it. Sharp out of the box. Lock is smooth and sturdy. I go camping a lot (I am an Eagle Scout) and this knife hasn't disappointed me at all. Only down side is that Bass pro's price is about $10 more than most sellers which isn't all that bad.

I have had this knife for 4 months and the vg-10 blade is extreamly sharp using a Lansky Diamond sharpening system.. It is very "Left Hand" friendly. The locking system is smooth and works well with either hand. This is a fairly large pocket knife and it cuts rope like it was a piece of string. Your money will be well spent on this knife. Basss Pro also had the best price I could find on any web sight for this knife.

I've owned and have been collecting knives since I was eight years old. That's over 48 years now and I don't plan to stop anytime soon. I know a good knife when I see one because I've collected low-quality knives and extremely high quality knives most of my life.
I was a machinist by trade and for about six or seven years I had a hobby making knives as well. So when I received my SOG and took it out of the box I immediately felt the weight and balance when I opened it and knew I had a great knife.
The blade was razor sharp and flicked open very easily and it had a good strong, definite lock with no play. The hard, strong plastic grip felt good and wouldn't have slipped from my hands even if they were wet.
The pocket clip is removable but what I particularly liked was that I can put it on the opposite side of the handle if I wanted to. When opened, the knife balances so well that you can throw it. That is very unusual for a folding blade knife.
I have noted in these knife reviews that people are often concerned about how well they can open a knife in either hand. I don't believe that this problem would have anything to do with any knife and requires just a little practice to master.
That said those who are concerned with that kind of thing will be happy to read that this knife can be easily opened through the use of a little peg that protrudes from the blade on either side. There should be no problem opening a knife with that kind of set up.
I got my first knife when I was eight years old and have never gone without one ever since. Over the years I've sold most of my knives and of the few that I have left this is by far the best one.
This is a high quality life and I strongly recommend.
