SOG SEAL Pup Fixed Blade Knife
I bought this knife last year and it will work for anything I need it for. I even used it on foam and it was so sharp that it went exactly where I wanted it slicing easily instead of pushing in the the foam and making jagged cuts.

Good Medium use knife
I have put this knife through the ringer and has done pretty well. Steel is good and retains an edge reasonably well after being used, but the better aspect of this steel is it requires little work to bring it back to very sharp. Won't hold it as long, but easy to regain. The grip could be a little more "grippy" for lack of a better term, but it does pretty good. Lightweight which is important for me because backpacking means I'm counting ounces. serrations have their use, but a fine edge is better in my opinion. Overall you won't be disappointed in this one, but if you want better edge retention and higher grade steel you're going to have to get something with S30V, san mai iii, or a type of carbon steel with higher harness grading. But for the price this is a pretty solid knife. More than enough for the camping/light hiking trip and adequate for lighter backpacking. but for a literal survival trip where I can't afford to have a knife break or become compromised, I'm packing a higher quality knife

This was my first "real" knife. I've had for over 2 years now and it still works just as great as it did 2 years ago! I've used this knife for everything from cutting pvc pipes, marking trees, and finishing my hogs. Everything about this knife is great except for one thing, the grip. its a bit jagged and it can get rough on your hand if you don't hold it properly fit to the size of your hand. If your looking for a knife to be there just when you need it or one to use daily in vigorous activities, I would highly recommend this knife!

I ordered it to have knife that I could scratch and beat up. It lived up to the challenge.
