SOG FastHawk Straight-Edge Tomahawk
Perfect for camping and other outdoor activities!
I recently purchased this Hawk and it was perfect! At first, I felt its durable construction and very light weight design. Then started to test both points of the axe head; they're both fantastic in different ways. The axe head cut through wood flawlessly and cleanly. The point on the rear of the head was like a little spear tip and glided through the wood as well. This axe is also good for throwing if you may be into that. Also with its small design it can be carried and packed away easily without struggle for other materials (like for camping and such). This was completely worth the money for a wide variety of uses it can conquer with ease.

Perfect Weight for Throwing
The FastHawk is the perfect weight for throwing and it does NOT break when throwing. It will stick with either the blade or the spike, but it is difficult to stick with the blade because the blade is flat (it must contact the target on a forward leaning angle so that the top point of the blade hits the target). If the blade and spike where curved just like the SOG Battle Axe, it would be the perfect throwing tomahawk/axe. The metal is a little soft, which is easier to damage, but is also easier to sharpen than a harder steel. Therefore, be prepared to sharpen it often. But, it does get very sharp, pretty easily.

Have had mine for about 2 years now. bought it right before deer season in PA. Used it to trim brush and limbs around site. Son and I got 2 deer and decided to test the hawk by quartering the deer and removing the heads. I have to say it was D*** Scary how effective it was. One hit split the pelvis AND spine down to the rib cage! And that was just messing around butchering. Even was able to choke up onto the head and use the edge for skinning. Did both deer and really didn't need to be sharpened. Wish I could post a pic, I couldn't find them on my hard drive.
