Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 85 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Didn't Fit Motor Bought this for my Mercury 115. Had to take it back to BP because it wouldn't fit with my configuration. Don't think they make Hydrofoils for the 115 HP Mercs unless you buy the two piece. April 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by SUPERIOR PRODUCT EASY TO INSTALL, GOOD QUALITY, HELPS BOAT GET OUT OF HOLE QUICKER, STAYS ON PLANE AT SLOWER SPEEDS, HELPS DIVERT WEEDS FROM PROP. April 2, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by One on every boat I've put one of these hydrofoils on every boat I've owned for the last 25 years. I think they makea differenece in handling and running on plane at a lower rpm. March 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Key West Se300 Anyone with a Key West 1520CC run out an buy the SE300! 15ft Center Console 60HP Yamaha 4Stroke owned since 03 Typically powered with a 40HP 2 stroke. 60HP suffers from tale dragging due to configuration aft seating. Today with 3 men total of 500lbs on the aft bench seat we were up on plane immediately-amazing since before 1 or 2 of us would have to walk fwd to allow boat to plane. I feel like I have a new boat and motor for 50bucks! Turns are also tighter w/o cavitation. Todays 4strokes on small boats can't get the holeshot which I've lived with all these years. Quality made in Yam grey an looks technical not cheesy. Considered SE200 because I felt my 60 4stroke acted like a 40HP 2stroke an wanted to minimize size after testing Bigger is better an happy with 300. Boat weighs 1100lbs is very fuel efficient an now gained 2mph to 34 top end Installs easy.Shallow Water Fishin Again in FLA! March 8, 2013

of hole slowly - will this help?

A:
Yes, per SE Sport: Independent tests have shown the SE Sport to be the fastest foil on the market. Trailer Boats Magazine rates the SE Sport fastest in 0 to 30 and top end speed, and Bass and Walleye Boats Magazine rates SE Sport fastest in top end speed. Because of increased stability, speeds higher than the boat's regular top speed are sometimes experienced (as was recorded in the Bass and Walleye Boats test). A very slight drop or no loss in top speed is more likely.

Yes it does, you should be able to adjust it to completely eliminate cavitation. This of course also depends on the condition of your hull and proper mounting height of the motor or drive.

This adjustment that can be done that is not in the installation instructions is to make slight adjustments to the angle of the foil. I did this by adding a stainless flat washer or two between the foil and the cavitation plate. This is at the two front bolts that hold the foil to the plate. Longer stainless bolts may be needed to allow these bolts to properly thread through the locking portion of the nut without over tightening. That very small difference of the thickness of the washer can and will make big performance changes to your boat. Do not eliminate the soft flat washers that came with the foil and otherwise follow the mounting instructions that came with the foil.

I have fine turned the foil angle with great success on a 16' runabout 110 HP and on a 14' aluminum fishing boat 25 HP.

This is referring to a foil that is bolted to the plate without the use of the optional "clip" mounting adapter.

Found this answer on the manufacturers web site that might help answer yours: http://www.sesport.com/Questions.as...

"Will it help with prop cavitation?"

Yes. Prop cavitation/ventilation where the propeller takes in air on turns is damaging to your motor and lower unit. The crescent-shaped of the SE Sport helps to hold water more firmly around the prop than any other foil on the market.

The SE300 fits :

All sizes that have a cavitation plate larger than 5 inches wide, usually 40 horse power and up. Because the mounting holes on the SE Sport 300 are 4 inches apart, right to left (center to center), a 5 inch or smaller cavitation plate leaves less than ½ inch of metal from hole to the edge of the plate. The SE Sport 200 is recommended for cavitation plates 5 inches or less.

I currently have the Stingray XPI Senior, Black #SR-XPI-1 which I need to replace. Can you tell me if the bolt holes line up in the same location as the Sport Marine Tech SE Sport 300 Hydrofoil f/35-350HP?

A:
In most if not all situations NO. I bought a used 110 HP motor that had holes in it for a Stingray foil. As much as I hated to drill more holes in my motor. I had to for the mounting of the SE foil.

This never caused problems later.

Instead of a foil the best sulution to the problems that a foil might solve is to use automatic trim tabs. The foils are best when you have a hull design that will not allow the installation of trim tabs.

If your hole pattern is from a previously installed Stingray (trademark of Marine Dynamics, Inc.) or Hydro-tail (trademark of TH Marine Supplies, Inc.) the Sport will match this pattern..You may want to compare your hole pattern to ours on the installation page: http://www.sesport.com/Installation.... I had an older stingray classic myself, according to the mounting instructions, I moved the SE300 Hydrofoil ahead to where they suggested. The great thing about this product is that they give you easy to use template with instructions, I just followed them, drilled 4 more holes, my previous holes were covered up by the new hydrofoil, and everything worked great.
