This switch malfunctions and continues to drain your battery even if there is no water present. This was my second one after I returned the other and it lasted 1 month. Stick with a fully auto Bildge pump instead!

I bought this switch as a replacement for the earlier (contained mercury) version of the 20 Amp Rule A Matic. If you do the same, be advised that this version is slightly larger than the old one. Specifically, the distance between the mounting holes is about 1/2 inch longer so you will need to drill at least one new hole. The wiring on this version seems more substantial than the old one. My old one died because of corrosion in the wiring so that looks like an improvement.

Good switch, but generally only last me two years before they quit. Be sure to test your switch regularly!
