Delivering the same low-maintenance, rugged reliability as the full sized SR9, the lightweight Ruger SR9c 9mm Luger Compact Pistol packs the features today's shooters demand into a compact package. Perfectly balanced for comfortable and controlled shooting, the SR9c features the same slim, ergonomic grip, narrow slide, and short reach from the backstrap to the trigger as its larger predecessor. Adjustable, high-visibility 3-Dot sight system provides quick and easy target acquisition with adjustment for elevation and windage. New serrations are located on the front portion of the slide, making it easier to both manipulate the slide and to press check the chamber. Modern blocker. Unique reversible backstrap allows shooter to choose a flat or arched backstrap for a custom grip and feel. Easy to reach, ambidextrous manual trigger safety and magazine release. Weight: 23.4 oz. Capacity: 17+1 rounds (magazine features grip extension).

I have fired 1k+ rounds from cheap to expensive and all grain ranges. LOVE how I pull the trigger and KNOW where I am going to hit the target. Never misfired

I went to the range and rented an S&W M&P 9c and a Ruger SR9c and shot them both equally. I could hardly tell any difference except the Ruger has a thumb safety in addition to the other safety features.
"Made in the USA". I cleaned and lubed the gun and went to the range. Shot 100 rounds of WWB and 100 rounds of cheap bulk ammo w/o a failure of any kind. Slim enough to carry IWB esp. with the 10 rd mag. Ruger.com has lots of videos on disassembling, cleaning, and reassembly. Highly recommend this little gun. Also the 17 rd mag. included will fit the standard SR9 and vice versa, and it has a pop up indicator that shows if there is a cartridge in the chamber. (you can see it plainly on top of the gun in the pic)

Rated 5 out of 5Â by FishNShoot Great first gun
After reading lots of reviews, opted for the SR9c as a comfortable-firing 9mm that I could CC if I decided to go that route. I was impressed with the 10 and 17 mags, abundant safeties, and extras like the loader, lock and case. I was impressed with the overall quality and good looks. Before taking to the range, I field stripped and cleaned the gun, and it was a simple process. I'd never done a field strip before, and a couple youtube videos made it clear that it was nothing to worry about. Basically five parts and no special tools needed. At the range, I used three brands of ammo -- Winchester white box, American Eagle (Federal) and Remington UMC. 150 shots, no misfires, misfeeds or ejection problems. Recoil was very light. No discomfort in my hands are arms after, and the trigger breaks where you would expect it to. Accuracy at 7 yards was as good (for me) as on any handgun I've shot (Glock, Beretta, Sig, S&W) and the patterns were as tight as I could have hoped for. Just a few small beefs: The lock is nice to have, but the case won't hold the gun with the lock installed. Soon I'll get a safe, but it would be useful to be able to keep the secured gun in the case. Also, the edges of the slide are a little sharp -- might be an issue on a really long day of shooting. Other than really small deals, I'm very impressed with Ruger and can't want to take it to the range again.

Great overall gun. Smooth operation and had no issues putting 200+ rounds thru it. Love the feel of how it fits my hand.

Carry it everyday! Quality holster a must. I carry S.O.B.A:Â
Assuming you aren't shooting at the fish, but just want something to carry when your in remote areas, you bet. I'm a cyclist and a backpacker, and wanted something relatively light but would be comfortable at the range. It will accept a laser and with a 17 round mag and out of the box reliability it seems idea for protection.Top 500 Contributor

I carry my SR9c with me just about everywhere. If possible, I would use something like a shotgun for home protection but if the SR9c is easier to get to in a hurry, then I would grab it every day of the week.Top 25 Contributor

Yes, Yes and kindaPersonal carry it will be great. For fishing it will be a good oops gun but for home protection, go with a larger caliber with higher capacity.
