The Ruger® Mini-14® Ranch Rifle Semi-Auto Rifle is a scaled down version of the US M-14 with no selective fire switch. All models of Ruger's Mini-14 semi-automatic rifles have a solid reputation for being absolutely reliable under all conditions, and have proven themselves in both law enforcement and military use worldwide. The Ranch Rifle operates with a very simple Garand-style design that uses a fixed-piston gas system where gas impinges directly upon the operating rod and a breech bolt locking system. The Mini-14 action is not sensitive to the type of ammunition it uses, cycling both commercial .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammo interchangeably. A large extractor and fixed ejector send spent cases flying swiftly to the right of the shooter. The Ranch Rifle ejector is set to eject cases low to avoid hitting a mounted scope. No tools are required to quickly fieldstrip the rifle down to a few large parts that are not easily misplaced, and it reassembles just as quickly. The Wood/Blued Ranch Rifle comes with a blued steel barrel and receiver, a hardwood stock, and a synthetic ventilated hand guard. A flat, rubber butt-plate keeps the rifle on the shoulder during rapid fire. A ghost ring, adjustable rear aperture sight and a protected, 3-prong post front sight provide for rapid target acquisition, and hold up to rugged use. Integral scope mounts are machined into the receiver for mounting an optical sight with the included Ruger scope rings. The Ruger Mini-14 Ranch Rifle is a fast handling Semi-Auto Rifle that's great for hunting, pest control, home-defense, and emergency preparation. Made in USA.

Great Purchase I have wanted a Mini-14 for the longest time and just recently purchased the Ranch from BP. I only wish I had bought it sooner. Great for coyote and hog hunting. A blast to take to the range and shoot. I have put many, many rounds through this gun and have had ' 0 ' problems. September 16, 2012
Ruger Mini14 Ranch Very nice gun. It is well designed and works well in extreme cold weather. Unlike other auto loaders this one didn't freeze up in -10 degree + weather. Good shooting and tight groups at 200 yards. February 9, 2011
Great overall rifle The rifle is very good in construction. The only problem I have is the selection of ammo required to keep it running effectively. It does not like steel cased, lacquered, or nickel ammo. It needs pure brass cases or stoppages will occur. So, don't be cheap with the ammo. The high capacity magazines give you ample opportunity to cut down multiple popper targets. The Ruger mags are expensive and good but the after market ones do just as well. Keep everything well lubed and you'll have plenty of good shooting with this rifle. If you ever wanted one, get it now. I got this at $525.00 5 years ago. I was disappointed because it went up $75. Now it's at $726 and at some places $926. Get it now before it's too much for a bargain. February 9, 2011
Can't go wrong! This rifle was given to me by my family when I graduated high school several years ago. Since then I have joined the Army, and this rifle travels everywhere I go, except for deployments, which I really wish I could bring it with. The action of the rifle is silky smooth. I have lots of headshots on small game, such as foxes, coyotes, what have you out to 100+ yards. The only thing about this rifle, it's a little on the loud side, so I would recommend ear protection. Good stank to everyone! November 22, 2010
