I have wanted a Mini-14 for the longest time and just recently purchased the Ranch from BP. I only wish I had bought it sooner. Great for coyote and hog hunting. A blast to take to the range and shoot. I have put many, many rounds through this gun and have had ' 0 ' problems.

Very nice gun. It is well designed and works well in extreme cold weather. Unlike other auto loaders this one didn't freeze up in -10 degree + weather. Good shooting and tight groups at 200 yards.

The rifle is very good in construction. The only problem I have is the selection of ammo required to keep it running effectively. It does not like steel cased, lacquered, or nickel ammo. It needs pure brass cases or stoppages will occur. So, don't be cheap with the ammo. The high capacity magazines give you ample opportunity to cut down multiple popper targets. The Ruger mags are expensive and good but the after market ones do just as well. Keep everything well lubed and you'll have plenty of good shooting with this rifle. If you ever wanted one, get it now. I got this at $525.00 5 years ago. I was disappointed because it went up $75. Now it's at $726 and at some places $926. Get it now before it's too much for a bargain.

This rifle was given to me by my family when I graduated high school several years ago. Since then I have joined the Army, and this rifle travels everywhere I go, except for deployments, which I really wish I could bring it with. The action of the rifle is silky smooth. I have lots of headshots on small game, such as foxes, coyotes, what have you out to 100+ yards. The only thing about this rifle, it's a little on the loud side, so I would recommend ear protection.
Good stank to everyone!
